This is square-shaped mount for medieval belt. Bronze-casted replica, size 18 x 18 mm.

Source: archaeological finding from London Museum 

Designed for historical belts decoration: usually from 5 to 22 mounts are assembled on leather stripe. Re-enactor may create unique, one-of-a-kind belt by combining different mounts.
