The rose-shaped mounts can decorate your belt which will suit to your costume of medieval citizen or nobleman. The rose is known as a symbol of English kings but we can also see this heraldic element on coats of arms of German, French or Italian knights and ladies. There was a legend that the rose grew in the Heaven's Garden without its thorns but they grew up again after the lapse from virtue. The rose had two opposite meanings at the same time. It symbolized celestial perfection and mundane desire, time and eternity, life and death, fertility and virginity.
